Silicon carbide — Titanium carbide nanocomposites: Microstructural investigation
Materials Research Bulletin, 1994Abstract The interest in nanomaterials and nanocomposites compared to classical materials is discussed, taking SiC-TiC as an example. This nanocomposite is produced by chemical vapor deposition. The microstructure is investigated by SEM, TEM, HREM and microprobe analysis.

Darmstadtium carbonyl and carbide resemble platinum carbonyl and carbide
Chem. Commun., 2004DsC and DsCO are calculated to be very similar to PtC and PtCO, suggesting that even the latest 6d elements resemble the corresponding 5d elements chemically.

From graphene to silicon carbide: ultrathin silicon carbide flakes
Nanotechnology, 2016This study presents a new ultrathin SiC structure prepared by a catalyst free carbothermal method and post-sonication process. We have found that merging ultra-light 3D graphene foam and SiO together at high temperature leads to the formation of a complex SiC structure consisting of 3D SiC foam covered with traditional 1D nanowires.

Boron Carbide-Silicon Carbide nanocomposites for next generation armour
2020Modern warfare is developing rapidly; technology is becoming more advanced and the modern soldier requires more of it. With the increase in equipment there is an increase in weight which reduces mobility. Threats have also developed, in such environments greater protection can be required.
