Understanding enzyme-substrate interactions in Carbohydrate Esterase Family 15

open access: yes, 2019
Carbohydrate Esterase Family 15 (CE15) is a rather small family, comprising approximately 200 members, which was established in CAZy (www.cazy.org) in 2006.

Integration of Spatiotemporal Multi‐Omics in Peach Fruit Unravels a Metabolic Niche and the Genetic Basis of Trichome‐Mediated Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.

The alkaline xylanase III from Fusarium oxysporum F3 belongs to family F/10

open access: yes, 1997
Xylanase III from Fusarium oxysporum F3 was purified to homogeneity by ion-exchange chromatography and gel filtration. The enzyme has a molecular mass of 38 kDa, an isoelectric point of 9.5, and is maximally active on oat spelt xylan at pH 7 and 45 °C ...

Analysis of the Changes in Physicochemical Properties and Microbial Communities During Fermentation of Sweet Fermented Rice

open access: yesFoods
As a traditional rice wine, sweet fermented rice (SFR) is widely loved because of its unique flavor and high nutritional value. However, the physicochemical properties, microbial community composition, and metabolic pathway changes during the ...

Ecological Adaptation Mechanisms Underlying Successful Plant Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During floral induction, various environmental and endogenous signals converge to regulate the florigen protein, which is transported from leaves to the SAM to initiate flowering. Within the SAM, a complex network of receptor kinases and small peptides orchestrates floral development with high spatiotemporal precision.

The cloning , expression and characterisation of bacterial chitin-binding proteins from pseudomonas aeruginosa , serratia marcescens, photorhabdus luminescens and photorhabdus asymbiotica. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
It is well recognised that most proteins are subject to post translational modifications and that these modifications can have specific effects on the biological properties and functions of these proteins.

Natural Variation of NAR5 Determines Nitrogenase Activity and the Yield in Soybean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified NAR5, a gene encoding a subtilisin‐like protease, that regulates nitrogenase activity in soybean nodules. Overexpressing NAR5 delayed nodule senescence, enhancing nitrogenase activity, yield, and low‐nitrogen tolerance. The elite haplotype NAR5HapI‐1 linked to superior nitrogenase activity and greater seed weight has been ...

Printable Conductive Hydrogels for Electrochemical Biosensing and Soft Bioelectronic Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Flexible, conductive hydrogels that integrate printability, mechanical tunability, biocompatibility, and electronic performance remain challenging to achieve. Here, we develop 3D‐printable poly(ethylene glycol)–poly(pyrrole)‐ hydrogels with tissue‐like mechanics, high cytocompatibility, and robust electrochemical function.

Small Extracellular Vesicles‐Derived Circ6718 Unlocks Stromal Remodeling and Serves as a Biomarker in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
sEVs‐circ6718 serves as a promising serum biomarker for gastric cancer early diagnosis and prognosis, promoting malignant transformation in gastric cancer cells and GC‑MSC differentiation into CAFs. sEVs‑circ6718 holds potential as a biomarker for the early diagnosis and prognostic assessment of gastric cancer.
