Oxygen‐Tunnel Indium Tin Oxide Vertical Channel Transistors with Enhanced Current Density and Reliability for Monolithic 3D Compute‐In‐Memory Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxygen‐tunnel (OT) indium tin oxide (ITO) vertical channel transistors (VCTs) enable reliable, high‐density gain‐cell memory for monolithic 3D integration. A sandwiched SiN/SiO2/SiN OT stack selectively regulates oxygen transport, suppressing parasitic electrode oxidation while stabilizing channel oxygen vacancies, thereby suppressing carrier injection

Efficient and rapid screening of novel adsorbents for carbon capture in the UK IGSCC project

open access: yes, 2013
Here we present the results of the rapid screening of novel adsorbents for CO capture. The materials were synthesized as part of the Innovative Gas Separations for Carbon Capture (IGSCC) project, a UK wide consortium which involves the University of ...

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Aerosol emissions and mitigation of aqueous AMP/PZ solvent for postcombustion CO2 capture

open access: yesCarbon Capture Science & Technology
Aerosol emissions from the CO2-capture process have a significant impact on both solvent depletion and environmental contamination. This work comprehensively investigated the emissions of AMP (2-amino-2-methyl-1propanol)/PZ (piperazine) from a bench ...

Polymer Interface Enables Reversible Quasi‐Solid Sulfur Conversion in Sodium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The polymer interface enables a stable quasi‐solid sulfur conversion pathway in room‐temperature Na─S batteries. The coating regulates Na+ transport, stabilizes the cathode–electrolyte interphase, and accommodates mechanical stress, suppressing electrolyte decomposition and sulfur migration, thereby improving reaction uniformity, reducing polarization,

Carbon capture and storage: taking action under the present law [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The report investigates the legal regime for carbon capture and storage as a method of reducing net emissions of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. The report is specially focused on options to move forward with limited numbers of changes to statutes ...

Solution‐Processed Two‐Dimensional Indium Oxide on Sodium‐Embedded Alumina for Reconfigurable Optoelectronic Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale two‐dimensioanl In2Se3 oxidized into InOx on sodium‐embedded beta‐alumina enables multifunctional reconfigurable electronics. Sodium ions accumulate within distinct spatial distribution under drain‐controlle and gate‐controlled operation. Drain‐control operation gives controllability of ultraviolet‐driven optoelectronic synaptic conductance

How CO2 Capture and Storage Can Mitigate Carbon Leakage [PDF]

open access: yes
Most CO2 abatement policies reduce the demand for fossil fuels and therefore their price in international markets. If these policies are not global, this price decrease raises emissions in countries without CO2 abatement policies, generating “carbon ...

Public perceptions of CCS: Emergent themes in pan-European focus groups and implications for communications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper reports on European public perceptions of carbon capture and storage (CCS) as determined through six focus groups, one held in each of the UK, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Belgium and Spain. The development of opinion and the emergence of
