Carbon Taxes and Carbon Emissions Trading
Journal of Economic Surveys, 2001This paper surveys the literature on, and examples of current implementation of, carbon taxes and carbon emission permits. It sets out the theoretical basis for these instruments, with special reference to the revenue‐recycling and tax interaction effects.

International Trade and Carbon Emissions
The European Journal of Development Research, 2012Using panel data, we find evidence for significant direct and indirect effects of trade on carbon emissions. Trade tends to increase the emissions burden, especially in those less industrialized countries. We also find evidence for a U-shaped relationship between income per capita and carbon emissions. We discuss the effectiveness of emission reduction

Is carbon emissions trading profitable?
Economic Modelling, 2015The European Carbon Emissions Trading Scheme introduced in 2005 has led to both spot and futures market trading of carbon emissions. However, despite seven years of trading, we have no knowledge on how profitable carbon emissions trading is. In this paper, we first test whether carbon forward returns predict carbon spot returns. We find strong evidence

Carbon Pricing and Emissions Trading
2021Carbon pricing is about the explicit pricing of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, of which carbon dioxide is the most important. GHG emissions, which are normally measured in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent units, are responsible for global warming and hence the greatest environmental externality of our age.

Carbon emission trading and technology innovation for low-carbon emission
2011 International Conference on Electrical and Control Engineering, 2011Considering the low-carbon technology spillover, the three-stage game model shows that the equivalent carbon price is not a definite value, but a variable in the certain interval. Meanwhile, the carbon emission limit and time are relevant to determine the balance of the carbon price. At first time, the lowest price may be higher in order to promote the
