Geochemical characteristics and implications of shale gas from the Longmaxi Formation, Sichuan Basin, China

open access: yesJournal of Natural Gas Geoscience, 2016
Gas geochemical analysis was conducted on the shale gas from the Longmaxi Formation in the Weiyuan-Changning areas, Sichuan Basin, China. Chemical composition was measured using an integrated method of gas chromatography combined with mass spectrometry ...

Modulating Surface‐Active Hydrogen for Facilitating Nitrate‐to‐Ammonia Electroreduction on Layered Double Hydroxides Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The NiCuFe‐layered double hydroxides nanosheets are synthesized for facilitating nitrate‐to‐ammonia with a high ammonia yield of 1.64 mmol h−1 cm−2, Faradaic efficiency of 94.8% and stability for 15 cycles. The assembled Zn‐nitrate battery delivers a remarkable power density of 12.4 mW cm−2.

Nuclear reactions in shock wave front during supernova events [PDF]

open access: yes
The new unique isotopic anomalous coponent of Xe(XeX) was found in the carbonaceous chondrites. It is enriched in light shielded isotopes (124Xe and 126Xe) and in heavy nonshielded isotopes (134Xe and 136Xe.

SI‐bioATRP in Mesoporous Silica for Size‐Exclusion Driven Local Polymer Placement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An enzyme‐catalyzed surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI‐bioATRP) of an anionic monomer within mesoporous silica particles, using hemoglobin as a catalyst, allows for controlling the location of the formed polymer via size‐exclusion effects between the nanopores and the biomacromolecules, thereby opening routes to functional ...

Nitrogen isotope analysis of ammonium and glycine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Stable isotope techniques can be used as a tool in nitrogen cycling studies of different ecosystems. The studies are based on measurement of the heavy (15N)- to- light (14N) isotopic ratios of nitrogen in different biospheric pools.

Toward Scalable Solutions for Silver‐Based Gas Diffusion Electrode Fabrication for the Electrochemical Conversion of CO2 – A Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

Enhanced Nitric Oxide Electroreduction to Ammonia via Modulating Spin‐Polarization of Fe Single‐Atom Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A strategic spin‐polarization suppression in Fe single‐atom catalysts is proposed to enhance electrocatalytic reduction of NO to NH3. Employing a top‐down electrospinning strategy, self‐supported FeSAC with Fe‐N3S1 coordination structure and spin‐state transition is engineered from high‐spin to low‐spin.

Variations in molecular and isotopes composition of seepage gases in the north western and south eastern parts of lake Baikal

open access: yesGeoresursy
The paper presents results of gas-geochemical studies of bottom sediments and petroleum potential assessment of Baikal Rift Basin. During the expeditions of the Class@Baikal project in 2014–2019, gases from the Lake Baikal bottom sediments were analyzed.

Trap‐Assisted Transport and Neuromorphic Plasticity in Lead‐Free 2D Perovskites PEA2SnI4

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An artificial retina built from lead‐free layered perovskite (PEA)2SnI4 converts light input into a persistent photocurrent and sums successive flashes over time. Micro/nanocrystals integrated on electrodes act as synapse‐like pixels that perform temporal integration directly in hardware. This in‐sensor preprocessing merges detection and computation on
