A Perspective on the Applications of Triphasic Gas Storage in Electrochemical Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gas storage in microporous materials positioned locally at an electrode or electrocatalyst surface enhances electrochemical processes. Abstract Microporous materials store gases under dry conditions (e.g., hydrogen or oxygen via physisorption), but in some cases microporous materials also show triphasic (e.g., in a solid|gas|liquid system) gas storage ...

Highly Selective CO2 Reduction to Pure Formic Acid Using a Nafion‐TiO2 Composite Porous Solid Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A Nafion‐based porous solid electrolyte (NPSE) is reported, optimized by thickness, porosity, and titanium dioxide (TiO2) incorporation for selective electrochemical reduction of CO2 to formic acid. The NPSE–TiO2 composite achieves a FEHCOOH of 98.6%, jHCOOH of 431.8 mA cm−2, and single‐pass concentration of 17.4 wt.%.

All‐In‐One Thermal Protection: Multifunctional Synergy in Hierarchically Structured Dual‐Oxide Nanofiber Aerogel

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through a cross‐scale structural design, a lightweight, heat‐resistant, and thermal‐insulating streamlined dual‐oxide nanofiber aerogel is prepared to achieve exceptional thermomechanical stability. Structural design of ceramic fibrous aerogel toward thermal protection, illustrating thermal insulation and stress dissipation.

ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction Due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Medicine, 2011
Carbon monoxide is formed as a result of combustion of any carbon compound and can lead to hypoxia in many organs including the brain and the heart. Carbon monoxide poisoning in the United States is the leading cause of the fatal poisonings.

Repurposing of Chemokine Antagonists for Combined Phase‐Resolved Spinal Cord Injury Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Spinal cord injury (SCI) in mammals is accompanied by a massive cytokine storm in cerebrospinal fluid, mainly driven by CXCL1, IL‐6, and CCL2‐5. Sub‐acute phase is mostly associated with IL‐2, IL‐7, CCL22, and CX3CL1, whereas TNFα and IL17α permanently persists in CNS even weeks following SCI.

Ammonia Gas Sensor Fabricated by Multifunctional ZnO/GO Nanocomposites for Long‐Term, Self‐Powered Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zinc oxide/graphene oxide (ZnO/GO) nanocomposites serve as a gas‐sensitive film for ammonia sensing and as high‐performance electrode materials in supercapacitors, simultaneously. A wearable contact‐separated triboelectric nanogenerator is designed to directly drive the ZnO/GO nanocomposites‐based ammonia sensor.
