Performance, emissions, and lubricant oil analysis of a marine diesel engine powered by raw Schizochytrium sp. and its blends

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Microalgae oil (MAO), a third‐generation biofuel, can support global transportation fuel demand as a fossil fuel substitute. Schizochytrium sp. MAO is particularly promising for direct use in compression ignition (CI) engines, especially in the marine sector, due to its adaptability and high oil yield.

Examining Airlines' Environmental and Social Disclosure: Does Board Gender Diversity Matter?

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the influence of board gender diversity (BGD) on environmental and social disclosure (ESD) within the airline industry, an area that remains underexplored despite increasing stakeholder scrutiny. We apply automated textual analysis to annual reports of Skytrax's top global airlines from 2016 to 2022 to measure the ...

Additives on the Performance of Co2O3/LaCoO3 Oxygen Carrier in Ethane Chemical Looping to Ethylene

open access: yesCarbon and Hydrogen, EarlyView.
This figure shows the results of CL‐ODH stability tests over ZnO‐Co2O3/LaCoO3. It is shown that ZnO‐Co2O3/LaCoO3 has good performance during 100‐time cycles with ethane conversion of 100% and ethylene selectivity of around 75%. ABSTRACT Chemical looping oxidative dehydrogenation (CL‐ODH) is a promising novel method to convert ethane into higher value ...

Room‐Temperature Syntheses of Methyl Ethyl Carbonate Using an Amino‐Functionalized Ionic Liquid Catalyst

open access: yesCarbon and Hydrogen, EarlyView.
Efficient synthesis of methyl ethyl carbonate from dimethyl carbonate and ethanol catalyzed by ionic liquid [EMIM]ATZ at room temperature. ABSTRACT This study reports the development of a novel amino‐functionalized ionic liquid catalyst, namely 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium amino triazole ([EMIM]ATZ), for the efficient and sustainable synthesis of ethyl ...

Molecular Engineering of Catalyst–Electrolyte Interfaces With Hydrophobic and CO2‐Capturing Cucurbit[6]uril for Enhanced CO2 Electroreduction

open access: yesCarbon and Hydrogen, EarlyView.
In this work, we develop a supramolecular engineering approach by constructing cucurbit[6]uril (CB[6])‐modified copper‐based electrocatalysts. These catalysts create dynamic metal‐organic interfaces that couple captured CO2 with a hydrophobic surface microenvironment, enabling efficient electroreduction of CO2 to CO.

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning [PDF]

open access: possibleMedical Clinics of North America, 2004
CO is an insidious poison with many sources of exposure. CO poisoning produces diverse signs and symptoms, which often are subtle and can be misdiagnosed easily. Failure to diagnose CO poisoning may result insignificant morbidity and mortality and allow continued exposure to a dangerous environment.

Carbon Monoxide Cardiotoxicity

Journal of Toxicology: Clinical Toxicology, 2001
Cardiac dysfunction including arrhythmias and myocardial ischemia have often been reported in carbon monoxide poisoning; scattered punctiform hemorrhages throughout the heart have been documented in autopsy samples. An appropriate diagnostic approach is crucial to assess carbon monoxide cardiac damage.

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Survey of Anesthesiology, 1998
Carbon monoxide intoxication continues to be one of the most common causes of morbidity due to poisoning in the United States.1,2 It may be intentional or accidental, and exposure may be lethal. Approximately 600 accidental deaths due to carbon monoxide poisoning are reported annually in the United States,3 and the number of intentional carbon monoxide–
