Easier, Safer, and Greener: Unlocking the Power of Solid Reagents in Organic Reactions by Mechanochemistry

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
This review highlights the powerful synergy between mechanochemistry and solid reagents to replace hazardous substances traditionally used in organic synthesis. Such an approach offers a safer and more sustainable pathway for conducting organic reactions, with potential benefits in both reactivity and selectivity. The use of solid bases, acids, and gas

Surface Modification via Click Chemistry Enhances CO2 Reduction Selectivity between C2+/C1 on Shape‐Controlled Cu2O

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Nearly identical molecular modifications of two differently shaped cuprous oxide via click chemistry lead to a striking divergence in product selectivity in CO2 electrolysis—favoring either methane or C2+ compounds. This contrast reveals dual roles of the organic layer : forming distinct functional sites that act synergistically and disrupting copper ...

Tailoring the Coordination Environment of Single‐Atom Catalysts for Enhanced Electrochemical CO2‐to‐CO Conversion Efficiency

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
CO‐N3 and CO‐N4 are delicately prepared to study the role of coordination number on the impact of eCO2RR. The Co site in asymmetric Co‐N3 configuration displays a downshifted d‐band center, facilitating the CO2 activation and the intermediate *COOH formation and the CO2‐to‐CO conversion performance.

Eco‐Friendly Synthesis of Cobalt Phthalocyanine for High‐Efficiency CO2${\rm CO}_{2}$ Electroreduction

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A sustainable synthesis of cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc) using low‐impact solvents yields high‐performance electrocatalysts with reduced waste (E‐factor 18.6). When integrated into gas diffusion electrodes, CoPc achieves up to 12% Faradays efficiency for CO2‐to‐methanol and 65% CO2‐to‐CO conversion, aligning with state‐of‐the‐art materials and enabling ...
