Open ocean carbon monoxide photo-production [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Sunlight-initiated photolysis of chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) is the dominant source of carbon monoxide (CO) in the open-ocean. A modelling study was conducted to constrain this source.

Carbon Monoxide in the Atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Air Pollution Control Association, 1968
A carbon monoxide analyzer has been developed which is capable of continuous measurement of the carbon monoxide concentration in the atmosphere. The operating principle of the instrument is the reaction of carbon monoxide with hot mercuric oxide followed by the photometric determination of the mercury vapor produced. Oxygenated hydrocarbons and olefins

Engineering Oxygen Vacancy in Support to Promote Activity of In2O3 Catalyst for CO2 Electroreduction to Formate

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel approach by depositing In2O3 onto an oxygen vacancy (OV)‐enriched support, ceria‐zirconia solid solutions (CZ), to activate synergistic effects is proposed. The OV contributes greatly to the dissociation of H2O and further promotes the hydrogenation of adsorbed CO2 species.

Gas turbine engine with recirculating bleed [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
Carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbon emissions in a gas turbine engine are reduced by bleeding hot air from the engine cycle and introducing it back into the engine upstream of the bleed location and upstream of the combustor inlet. As this hot inlet

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Society of Medicine, 2001
The deadly effect of carbon monoxide was known as long ago as Greek and Roman times, when the gas was used for executions1. In 1857 Claude Bernard postulated that its noxious effect was caused by reversible displacement of oxygen from haemoglobin to form carboxyhaemoglobin2.

Knowledge and attitude of Nigerian personnel working at Federal Medical Centre in Nigeria on carbon monoxide poisoning from electrical power generators

open access: yesSouth African Family Practice, 2014
Background: Private portable electrical power generators are common household items in Nigeria owing to inadequate electrical power provision for the public. These engines often run indoors, emitting poisonous carbon monoxide gas. Fatalities are commonly

Carbon monoxide poisoning [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Medical Association Journal, 2014
For references, please see Appendix 2, available at [www.cmaj.ca/lookup/suppl/doi:10.1503/cmaj.130972/-/DC1][1] Carbon monoxide (CO) is an imperceptible gas produced by the incomplete combustion of carbon-based compounds.

Amorphous High Entropy Alloy Nanosheets Enabling Robust Li–S Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amorphous ultrathin FeCoNiMoW high entropy alloy nanosheets are incorporated into the polypropylene separator of lithium‐sulfur batteries, enhancing their capacity, rate performance, and cycling stability. Abstract High‐entropy alloys (HEAs) show great potential for catalyzing complex multi‐step reactions, but optimizing their parameters, i.e ...
