Methane present in an extrasolar planet atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
Molecules present in exoplanetary atmospheres are expected to strongly influence the atmospheric radiation balance, trace dynamical and chemical processes, and indicate the presence of disequilibrium effects. Since molecules have the potential to reveal the exoplanet atmospheric conditions and chemistry, searching for them is a high priority.

Acute Compartment Syndrome Which Causes Rhabdomyolysis by Carbon Monoxide Poisoning and Sciatic Nerve Injury Associated with It: A Case Report

open access: yesHip & Pelvis, 2017
Rhabdomyolysis is most frequently caused by soft tissue injury with trauma to the extremities. Non-traumatic rhabdomyolysis may be caused by alcohol or drug abuse, infection, collagen disease, or intensive exercise, but incidence is low.

Investigating the kinetics of small alcohol oxidation reactions using platinum supported on a doped niobium suboxide support

open access: yesElectrochemical Science Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Platinum nanoparticles deposited on a silicon‐doped niobium suboxide support provided the catalyst known as Pt/NbOS. This was compared to the commercial Pt/C electrocatalyst in the ethanol and methanol oxidation reactions for use in direct alcohol fuel cells.

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

A case of delayed neurological manifestation following carbon monoxide poisoning in Sri Lanka: epidemiology of exposure and literature review

open access: yesBMC Pharmacology and Toxicology, 2019
Background Carbon monoxide poisoning is a common emergency worldwide, which carries high morbidity and mortality. Some patients who recover from the insult of acute carbon monoxide toxicity may later develop delayed neuropsychiatric sequelae (DNS) after ...
