Superelastic Hard Carbon Nanofiber Aerogels
Advanced Materials, 2019AbstractSuperelastic carbon aerogels have been widely explored by graphitic carbons and soft carbons. These soft aerogels usually have delicate microstructures with good fatigue resistance but ultralow strength. Hard carbon aerogels show great advantages in mechanical strength and structural stability due to the sp3‐C‐induced turbostratic “house‐of ...

Carbonized Electrospun Nanofiber Sheets for Thermophones
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2016Thermoacoustic performance of thin freestanding sheets of carbonized poly(acrylonitrile) and polybenzimidazole nanofibers are studied as promising candidates for thermophones. We analyze thermodynamic properties of sheets using transport parameters of single nanofibers and their aligned and randomly electrospun thin film assemblies.

Electrical Conductance in a Single Carbon Nanofiber
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2005A microwave-plasma enhanced chemical-vapor-deposition (MPECVD) method was used to grow a solo multi-wall carbon nanofiber, which plays as a bridge across nickel electrodes that were separated by the photolithographic process. The length and diameter of carbon nanofiber are 3 microm and 100 nm, respectively. The single wire across the electrodes reveals

Carbon Nanofibers Prepared via Electrospinning
Advanced Materials, 2012AbstractCarbon nanofibers prepared via electrospinning and following carbonization are summarized by focusing on the structure and properties in relation to their applications, after a brief review of electrospinning of some polymers. Carbon precursors, pore structure control, improvement in electrical conductivity, and metal loading into carbon ...

Y-Junction Multibranched Carbon Nanofibers
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2005Multibranched carbon nanofiber (CNF) is produced by a thermal chemical vapor deposition method using camphor as precursor. Nickel and cobalt catalyst was deposited on silicon substrate by e-beam evaporation and used as substrate for the growth of carbon nanomaterials.

Carbon Nanofiber-Based Glucose Biosensor
Analytical Chemistry, 2006The use of highly activated carbon nanofibers for the design of catalytic electrochemical biosensors is demonstrated. The direct immobilization of enzymes onto the surface of carbon nanofibers is shown to be a highly efficient method for the development of a new class of very sensitive, stable, and reproducible electrochemical biosensors. These results
