Carbon Tantalum Internal Friction Peak

Journal of Applied Physics, 1957
The internal friction peak in tantalum arising from the diffusion of interstitial carbon has been located at 338°C for vibration frequencies of 0.55 cps. The corresponding activation energy is 39.6 kcal. The identification of this peak is made difficult by its proximity to the nitrogen peak. However, the two can be distinguished by the lesser stability

Double‐Peak Mechanical Properties of Carbon‐Nanotube Fibers

Small, 2010
AbstractThe introduction of twist during the spinning of carbon nanotubes from their arrays (forests) has been widely applied in making ultrastrong, stiff, and lightweight nanotube fibers. Here, for the first time, an important observation of a double‐peak behavior of the tensile properties, as a function of the twist angle, that is different from the ...

Exploring China's carbon emissions peak for different carbon tax scenarios

Energy Policy, 2019
Abstract Under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, China has made a commitment to peak CO2 emissions around 2030. China is still interested in fulfilling its commitment to address climate change. In this study, a diffusion model of energy technology based on endogenous technology learning under bounded rationality is developed ...

Chinese cities show different trend toward carbon peak

Science of The Total Environment
Understanding the disparities in carbon emission trend among cities is critical for achieving carbon peak goal. However, the status and trends of carbon peaking and reduction in various city types are still unclear. Therefore, this study classified 315 Chinese cities according to their economic and industrial structure by SOM-K-means, aiming to ...

[Carbon peak, carbon neutrality: strategic opportunities for China's health system].

Zhonghua yi xue za zhi, 2022
Excessive emission of greenhouse gases is the most important reason for global warming. Severe climate change significantly threatens human health. World Health Organization estimated that 12.6 million deaths were attributable to modifiable environmental factors and climate change would lead to 0.25 million deaths annually during 2030-2050.

Comments on surface carbon peaks in SERS

Chemical Physics Letters, 1985
Abstract Observation of strong SERS spectra of pyridine in a non-aqueous electrochemical cell, free of surface carbon peaks, suggests that surface carbon is not a prerequisite for SERS. However, surface carbon, created in the aqueous system by dissolution of CO 2 and also by photocarbonization at higher electrode potentials, affects the electrode ...
