Considerations for Utilising Alternative Radioisotopes in Radioisotope Power Systems

IEEE Aerospace Conference, 2021
The European radioisotope power systems (RPSs) for space, namely, radioisotope heater units (RHUs), radioisotope thermoelectric generators (RTGs) and Stirling generators are currently baselined to utilise americium-241 (241Am) as their radioisotope heat ...

Determination of Calcium Carbonate Moisture Content by a Radioisotope Technique

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1962
The transmission of beta particles through calcium carbonate samples with different moisture contents was studied. It was found that the transmission was linearly related to the moisture content.

Terrestrial radioisotopes in black shale hosted Mn-carbonate deposit (Úrkút, Hungary)

Acta Geophysica, 2013
Previously, little attention has been paid to terrestrial radioisotopes (U, Th, 40K) occurring in manganese ores, despite the fact that the biogeochemical relationship between Mn and U is versatile. Occurrence of terrestrial radioisotopes in great amounts during mining on a long-term causes significant radiation exposure.

Estimation of groundwater residence time using environmental radioisotopes (14C,T) in carbonate aquifers, southern Poland

Isotopes in Environmental and Health Studies, 2013
Triassic carbonate aquifers in the Upper Silesia region, affected by intense withdrawal, have been investigated by means of isotopic analyses of (14)C, δ(13)C, δ(2)H, δ(18)O and (3)H. The isotopic examinations were carried out in the 1970s and in the early 1980s, and it was the first application of tracers to estimate age and vulnerability for the ...
