Prevalence of short-lived radioactive isotopes across exoplanetary systems inferred from polluted white dwarfs [PDF]
In the Solar System short-lived radioisotopes, such as 26Al, played a crucial role during the formation planetary bodies by providing a significant additional source of heat. Notably, this led to early and large-scale melting and iron core formation in planetesimals and their loss of volatile elements, such as hydrogen and carbon.

A concept for the extraction of the most refractory elements at CERN-ISOLDE as carbonyl complex ions [PDF]
We introduce a novel thick-target concept tailored to the extraction of refractory 4d and 5d transition metal radionuclides of molybdenum, technetium, ruthenium and tungsten for radioactive ion beam production. Despite the more than 60-year old history of thick-target ISOL mass-separation facilities like ISOLDE, the extraction of the most refractory ...

Experimental Approach to Evaluate the 11C Perfusion and Diffusion in Small Animal Tissues for HadronPET Applications. [PDF]
The development of a reliable dose monitoring system in hadron therapy is essential in order to control the treatment plan delivery. Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is the only method used in clinics nowadays for quality assurance.

Technical Design Report for a Carbon-11 Treatment Facility
Particle therapy relies on the advantageous dose deposition which permits to highly conform the dose to the target and better spare the surrounding healthy tissues and organs at risk with respect to conventional radiotherapy.

A general procedure for the late-stage [11C], [13C] and [14C]carbon isotope labeling of cyclic carbamates is reported. This protocol allows the incorporation of carbon dioxide, the primary source of carbon-14 and carbon-11 radioisotopes, in a direct ...

Auto-atténuation de la radiation β dans les sources radioactives épaisses
In measuring β-radioactivity of thick sources, one has to take in account the phenomenon of self-weakening in the source. The present paper shows if the choice of the distance between source and counter on one hand, and of the chemical nature of the ...

A new method in the production of Ac-227, Ra-228, Th-228 and U-232 on Thorium target from different perspective for use in Radioisotope Power Systems and Nuclear Batteries [PDF]
We recommended a new method from different perspective for the production of Ac-227, Ra-228, Th-228 and U-232 radioisotopes which have an important potential for use in radioisotope power systems (instead of Pu-238) and nuclear batteries, based on long half-life, high power density and low radiation level.

Investigation of alpha particle induced reactions on natural silver in the 40-50 MeV energy range [PDF]
Natural silver targets have been irradiated by using a 50 MeV alpha-particle beam in order to measure the activation cross sections of radioisotopes in the 40-50 MeV energy range. Among the radio-products there are medically important isotopes such as $^{110m}$In and $^{111}$In.
