Stabilities and catapults of truncated carbon nanocones
Nanotechnology, 2021Abstract Truncated carbon nanocones (CNCs) can be taken as energy suppliers because of their special structures. In this paper, we demonstrate the stability of truncated CNCs under compression and the escape behavior of a fullerene catapulted from a compressed CNC by molecular dynamics simulations and theoretical models.

Stability and Signatures of Biexcitons in Carbon Nanotubes
Nano Letters, 2005The linear optical properties of semiconducting carbon nanotubes are dominated by quasi-one-dimensional excitons formed by single electron-hole pairs. Hence, the nonlinear response at high pump levels most likely leads to the formation of exciton complexes involving several electron-hole pairs.

The impact of carbon tax on financial stability
Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2022Climate change will have a significant impact on the financial system, and it is crucial to evaluate the impact of climate risk on the financial system. In view of this, this paper evaluates the impact of climate transition risks on the financial system from the perspective of carbon tax. Based on the micro data of bank and enterprise loans, this paper

Stability of carbon suspensions
Colloids and Surfaces, 1982Abstract The stability of an oil furnace carbon black, a graphitized carbon black and a platinized carbon black suspension, respectively, was studied in the presence of surfactants and electrolytes as a function of pH. Complete domains are given in terms of the concentrations of the additives and pH which delineate the regions of stable and ...

Stabilization of carbon dioxide and chromium slag via carbonation
Environmental Technology, 2016As the main greenhouse gas, CO2 is considered as a threat in the context of global warming. Many available technologies to reduce CO2 emission was about CO2 separation from coal combustion and geological sequestration. However, how to deal with the cost-effective storage of CO2 has become a new challenge.

Unusual Stability and Carbon Acidity of a Dicationic Carbon Species
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 20131,1'-Methylenebis(pyridinium) dication (MDP) is an unusual ion with two formal positively charged substituents attached to a central carbon, yet it is remarkably stable to hydrolysis at pH < 8. However, above this pH it undergoes a biphasic reaction liberating two equiv of pyridine sequentially.

AbstractThe superior physical properties of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have led to their broad application. Intrinsically, CNTs tend to agglomerate from hydrophobic interactions, which is highly undesirable for solution processing and device fabrication.

Stability of the thin partitioned carbon nanotubes
Journal of Molecular Modeling, 2013We report on the research of the stability of partitioned (bamboo-like) carbon nanotubes with different diameters. The stability of the partitioned carbon nanotubes of the smallest diameter were determined by the tight-binding method. For the prediction of the destruction regions of the bamboo-like nanotubes atomic framework subjected to strain the new

Stability of Small Carbon-Nitride Heterofullerenes
Physical Review Letters, 2003Carbon nitride nanostructures have been produced by the arc-discharge technique and analyzed by mass spectrometry. A series of structured peaks in the region of masses from 480 up to 600 suggests the existence of heterofullerenes C(n-x)Nx(40 < or = n < or = 50).

Storage stability of ketones on carbon adsorbents
Journal of Chromatography A, 2006Activated coconut carbon constitutes the more widely used sorbent for preconcentration of volatile organic compounds in sampling workplace air. Water vapour is always present in the air and its adsorption on the activated carbon surface is a serious drawback, mainly when sampling polar organic compounds, such as ketones.
