Optimising carbon storage by land-management [PDF]
As the UK’s largest non-government land-owner, the National Trust is committed to reducing its impact on climate change, recognising the importance of soil organic carbon (SOC), and its need for preservation.

Deadwood carbon pool and uncertainty estimates: effects of decay status and vegetation types
Deadwood carbon pool is a crucial component of forest ecosystems and the global carbon cycle. Assessing of deadwood carbon is challenging due to variability in decay status, species and disturbances in tropical forests.

Growing stock-based assessment of the carbon stock in the Belgian forest biomass [PDF]
Belgian forests covered 693 181 ha in 2000, representing 22.7% of the total land area. As no biomass or carbon stock data are included in the Flemish and Walloon regional forest inventories, species-specific wood densities, biomass expansion factors s.s. and carbon content values were critically selected from the literature.

Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the

Blue carbon of Mexico, carbon stocks and fluxes: a systematic review
Mexico has more than 750,000 ha of mangroves and more than 400,000 ha of seagrasses. However, approximately 200,000 ha of mangroves and an unknown area of seagrass have been lost due to coastal development associated with urban, industrial and tourist purposes.
