Correlated Molybdenum, Ruthenium, and Barium Isotope Anomalies in Presolar Silicon Carbide Grains
We have analyzed molybdenum, ruthenium, and barium isotopes simultaneously in 55 individual presolar silicon carbide (SiC) grains from the Murchison CM2 meteorite using the Chicago Instrument for Laser Ionization (or CHILI).

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous palynostratigraphy and palaeoclimate in the Andigama Basin, Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka consists of only ten percent of sedimentary rocks, and high-grade metamorphic rocks underlie the rest. Most of these sedimentary terrains are post-Gondwanic and such formations help to understand the geological history of the island.

Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Carbonaceous Cosmic Dust Analogs Distinguish between Ion Bombardment and Temperature
Carbonaceous cosmic dust is formed in the circumstellar envelopes of asymptotic giant branch stars and supernovae ejecta. Reprocessed carbonaceous cosmic dust, abundant in the light elements C, H, O, and N is found in asteroids and comets. These elements

Identification of Silicate and Carbonaceous Presolar Grains in the type 3 Enstatite Chondrites [PDF]
We surveyed presolar grains in primitive enstatite chondrites by isotopography using the HokuDai isotope microscope system. The mineral identification has been conducted by X‐ray analysis with scanning electron microscopy. The chemical compositions are determined for eight silicate and ten carbonaceous presolar grains.

Active Corrosion Protection of Sintered AA7075 Aluminum Alloy via Mn Powder Addition
AA7075 containing Mn‐rich particles is fabricated via spark plasma sintering using AA7075 and Mn powders. Corrosion resistance is evaluated through dip‐and‐dry tests using 0.1 M NaCl (pH 6.0), and mass loss decreases with increasing Mn addition. Mn‐rich particles function as a source of Mn ions, and formation of Mn‐accumulation films on Cu‐containing ...
