Architecture of Carbonate Platforms
2008Abstract The spectrum of carbonate-platform types, their heterogeneities, and their architecture is complex. Each platform succession has a distinctive and unique character that is a response to the particular geotectonic context and the physical, chemical, and biological conditions to that specific Phanerozoic window. Each succession

Platforms for Stable Carbon‐Centered Radicals
Angewandte Chemie, 2019AbstractOrganic radicals can potentially play important roles in functional materials owing to an unpaired electron, but they are usually highly reactive and difficult to use. Therefore, stabilization of organic radicals is important. Among organic radicals, carbon‐centered radicals are promising because of their trivalent nature, which enables ...

Carbonate platforms were one of the most characteristic paleoenvironments of the Tethyan domain. From Permian to Late Cenozoic, the permanence of warm marine conditions in this domain have favored thriving shallow-water skeletal benthic communities and accordingly, the carbonate sedimentation.

Cretaceous Carbonate Platforms
1990Studies of carbonate platforms can contribute significantly to several of the themes announced by GSGP. We propose the following topics as a focus for Working Group 4. 1. Determine rates of sediment production, rates of aggradation and large-scale facies patterns of Cretaceous platforms and evaluate the differences between platforms of the ...

Functionalized Carbon Nanohorns as Drug Delivery Platforms
2020Carbon nanohorns (CNHs) resembling a single-layered graphene sheet wrapped in a conical shape can be chemically modified in order to immobilize, carry, and release biologically active molecules. Here, we describe the major routes for the preparation of CNH-based drug delivery platforms, via covalent coupling and encapsulation, proficient to facilitate ...

Carbon isotope stratigraphy: a tool for basin to carbonate platform correlation
Terra Nova, 1997ABSTRACTThe Early Cretaceous carbonate carbon isotope stratigraphy established in pelagic limestones is marked by several pronounced excursions towards positive δ13C values. We investigated a biostratigraphically and palaeomagnetically calibrated Aptian section to see whether C isotope stratigraphy could be recognized in shallow‐water carbonates.
