Enhanced Reservoir Description in Carbonate and Clastic Reservoirs

Proceedings of Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition, 2007
Abstract The reservoir is composed of a mixture of dolomite, limestone, anhydrite and shale interstratified with sandstones member. The sandstone is predominantly poorly consolidated and quartz rich. Much of the sand is medium grained although coarser sand is common in the lowermost thick sandstone units.

Carbonate Reservoir Rocks

1980
Abstract This core workshop is the product of an effort by the SEPM Carbonate Research Group to emphasize the value of careful core interpretation to hydrocarbon exploration and production programs. Initially conceived as a small conference the format was expanded in response to strong interest from the geologic community. The end result

Reservoir Characterization and Modeling of a Carbonate Reservoir - Case Study

Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition, 2012
Abstract This paper describes the work undertaken to build a 3D static model of a Lower Cretaceous Carbonate Reservoir located in Kazakhstan called X-Field. This reservoir has been pervasively dolomitized, and presents several challenges for development optimization.

Assessment of Inter-Reservoir Communication in a Stratified Carbonate Reservoir

SPE Middle East Oil and Gas Show and Conference, 2009
Abstract This paper presents the results of pressure transient analysis carried out in several wells in a carbonate reservoir sequence, which has facilitated the assessment of the degree of vertical communication across various flow units on a larger reservoir scale. This enables the reduction of uncertainties in the full field reservoir

Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Reservoir Changes

Science, 1978
The net release of CO 2 from the biosphere to the atmosphere between 1850 and 1950 is estimated to amount to 1.2 × 10 9 tons of carbon per year. During this interval, changes in land use reduced the total terrestrial biomass by 7 percent. There has been a smaller reduction in biomass over the

Statistical Evaluation of Reservoir Rock Type in a Carbonate Reservoir

SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 2011
Abstract Reservoir rock type determination is one of the main parameters for simulation and prediction of the hydrocarbon reservoir behavior. Hence, it is of great importance to use a method which is capable of determining the rock type accurately.

Reservoir Characterization of Carbonate Reservoirs Karachaganak, Tengiz, Kashagan

Proceedings, 2013
This article presents a study which compares carbonate fields in Central Asia and Southeast Asia, their reservoir properties and petroleum system. The Central Asian carbonate reservoirs in the Pricaspian Basin selected for comparison include Kashagan, Karachaganak and Tengiz.
