Role of Liquid Composition in the Transient Liquid Assisted Growth of Superconducting YBa2Cu3O7‐δ Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The Y supersaturation in the [Ba‐Cu(I/II)‐O] transient liquid composition is the driving force toward YBCO nucleation and growth in TLAG. Tuning the initial (Ba:Cu) molar ratio in the ink composition determines the YBCO epitaxial nucleation through supersaturation control.

Tubular carbonate concretions as hydrocarbon migration pathways? Examples from North Island, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Cold seep carbonate deposits are associated with the development on the sea floor of distinctive chemosyn¬thetic animal communities and carbonate minerali¬sation as a consequence of microbially mediated anaerobic oxidation of methane.

Boosting Seawater Desalination by Ampere‐Level Nitrate Electroreduction On Defect‐Rich Ultrathin RuCu Alloy Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Defect engineering of ultrathin RuCu alloy nanostructures has been successfully achieved to enhance ammonia electrosynthesis under indutrial‐level current density. Simultaneously, the stable ampere‐level operation of nitrate electroreduction on defective RuCu nanostructures can drive seawater desalination at an ultrafast salt removal rate, offering an ...

Detrital-zircon geochronology and provenance of the Ocloyic synorogenic clastic wedge, and Ordovician accretion of the Argentine Precordillera terrane [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The Precordillera terrane in northwestern Argentina is interpreted to be anexotic (Laurentian) continental fragment that was accreted to western Gondwanaduring the Ordovician. One prominent manifestation of the subductionand collision process is a Middle?

Theory Guided Fine‐Tune of Strain Effects in Pt Ternary Alloy via Rare Earth Templating: Achieving High Performance PEMFCs Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Theory‐guided strain engineering and rare‐earth templating are combined to create Pt5(Ce)Co@Pt multilayer nanoparticles with a Pt5Co‐like sublayer that fine‐tunes *OH binding near the ORR volcano optimum. The resulting catalyst delivers exceptional mass activity and remarkable long‐term PEMFC durability, revealing a strategy for designing highly active

Determination of NMR T2 Cutoff and CT Scanning for Pore Structure Evaluation in Mixed Siliciclastic–Carbonate Rocks before and after Acidification

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is used widely to characterize petrophysical properties of siliciclastic and carbonate rocks but rarely to study those of mixed siliciclastic−carbonate rocks.

A normalised seawater strontium isotope curve: possible implications for Neoproterozoic-Cambrian weathering rates and the further oxygenation of the Earth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The strontium isotope composition of seawater is strongly influenced on geological time scales by changes in the rates of continental weathering relative to ocean crust alteration.
