A Dicopper(II)‐Based Carbonic Anhydrase Model—Quantum‐Chemical Evaluation of the Mechanistic Pathway
Prochloron didemni, an obligate symbiont of ascidians produces large amounts of patellamides, known to form dinuclear copper(II) complexes, which are efficient carbonic anhydrases. However, at the pH in the ascidians, catalysis is shown to be product‐inhibited.

Abstract Heavy metal contamination in rivers mostly originates from anthropogenic sources such as industrial activities, mining, agriculture, and urban runoff. These metals accumulate in river sediments and impact living organisms and the surrounding ecosystem. Historically, some rivers in Colombia have faced issues related to heavy metal contamination,

Uranium and Neptunium Accumulation by the Byssus of Mytilus galloprovincialis
Investigation of uranyl(VI) and neptunyl(V) uptake in mussel's byssus by combining in vivo bioaccumulation with ex vivo isotherms. Data highlight the role of DOPA‐rich mfp proteins in binding both actinyl cations and partial Np(V) reduction. Such data link molecular interactions to radionuclide uptake in the framework of marine radioecology.

Carbon Dioxide as a Sustainable Reagent in Circular Hydrometallurgy
Carbon dioxide is a useful reagent in hydrometallurgy and it can help to transform linear hydrometallurgical flowsheets into circular ones. Examples of applications of CO2 are pH control, the regeneration of acids used as lixiviants, or as a reagent for precipitation of metal carbonates. A new development is the solvent‐extraction‐assisted formation of

Uranyl acetate (UA), a form of depleted uranium (DU) extensively applied for military and civilian purposes, poses a health threat to exposed populations. Gallic acid (GA), a phytochemical present in various edible sources, has the potential to restore redox balance and exhibit anti‐inflammatory and antiapoptotic effects.
