Carboxy-methyl cellulose hydrogels used to fill breast implants: 15 years of experience
European Journal of Plastic Surgery, 2001Three hundred and eighty patients over a 15-year period who received pre-filled carboxy-methyl cellulose were analyzed retrospectively. Laboratory and surgical experience with these prostheses indicate that there is a role in augmentation mammaplasty and reconstruction for implants containing this nontoxic, viscoelastic, biodegradable filling material.

1. The effects of an indigestible soluble polysaccharide (carboxy methyl cellulose: CMC) on broiler performance (body weight gain, food and water intake) and on chyme characteristics (moisture content, viscosity, pH, osmolality and retention time) in broilers were studied. 2. In semi-synthetic diets 0, 5.0 and 10.0 g/kg of cellulose was replaced by CMC

Abstract The adsorption of sodium polyacrylate (NaPAA) and sodium carboxy methyl cellulose (NaCMC) on homoionic sodium and calcium kaolinite has been investigated. Adsorption is strongly dependent on Ca 2+ /polyelectrolyte interactions in solution, while the nature of the kaolinite is of less importance.

Osmotic Dehydration of Apple Slices with Carboxy-Methyl Cellulose Coating
Drying Technology, 2006ABSTRACT The effect of carboxy-methyl cellulose (CMC) coating on mass transfer process during osmotic dehydration of apple slices and its effect on salt absorption were investigated. The study was conducted using four concentrations of CMC (0.5, 1, 1.5, and 3%) and nine osmotic solutions comprising of glucose syrup (30, 40, and 50%) and salt (2, 4, and

Graft copolymers of acrylonitrile (ACN), methyl methacrylate (MMA), and their mixtures on carboxy methyl cellulose (d.S 0.4–0.5) were prepared by the use of ceric ion initiator in aqueous medium. The graft copolymers were characterized by IR spectroscopy.

Bloodstream trypomastigotes were isolated from blood of A/Sn mice 7 d after infection with 10(5) Trypanosoma cruzi Y strain. Red blood cells were removed by centrifugation and hypotonic shock and platelets and leucocytes by passage through a carboxy methyl cellulose column.

A straightforward and environmentally benign method for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) is reported in this paper. A sustainable and nontoxic polysaccharide carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) was used as both reducing agent and stabilizer in the process of synthesizing AgNPs. By varying the precursor concentration, solution pH value, reaction
