Upscaling Sodium‐Ion Battery Cells: From Aqueous Processing to Performance Assessment of Hard Carbon|Prussian White Pouch Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the feasibility of scaling up Prussian White (PW)‐based cathode manufacturing at a pilot scale. Through careful PW dehydration combined with optimized aqueous processing, we report the stepwise development of industrially relevant 1 Ah pouch cells and evaluate their performance under various conditions.

Degradation Pathways of Silicon‐Based Anodes in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Silicon‐based anodes undergo degradation through five primary pathways: (1) mechanical and structural deterioration of the active material, (2) loss of electrode integrity and electrical contact, (3) mechanical instability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), characterized by repetitive fracture and deformation, (4) chemical instability of the ...

Carboxymethyl cellulose as a green and biodegradable catalyst for the solvent-free synthesis of benzimidazoloquinazolinone derivatives

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2019
Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) was used as an efficient, and environmentally friendly catalyst for the solvent-free three-component synthesis of quinazolinone derivatives by condensation of 2-aminobenzimidazole, dimedone or 1,3-cyclohexanedione, and ...

Composites comprising cholesterol and carboxymethyl cellulose

open access: yesColloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2008
Whereby cholesterol presents one of the major fatty substances in human body, carboxymethyl cellulose is a water-soluble derivative of cellulose, the most abundant dietary fiber. Whereas on one hand in vivo precipitation of cholesterol is the major cause of atherosclerosis, dietary fibers are on the other hand known for their ability to clean the fatty

Assessing Mesoscale Heterogeneities in Hard Carbon Electrodes Through Deep Learning‐Assisted FIB‐SEM Characterization, Manufacturing and Electrochemical Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A combination of discrete and finite element method models for the current collector deformation and electrochemical performance analysis, respectively. The models are calibrated and validated with electrochemical and imaging data of hard carbon electrodes. These electrodes were manufactured with different parameters (slurry solid contents of 35 and 40

Investigation of some locally water-soluble natural polymers as circulation loss control agents during oil fields drilling

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2014
Eliminating or controlling lost circulation during drilling process is costly and time-consuming. Polymers play an important role in mud loss control for their viscosity due to their high molecular weight. In this paper, three natural cellulosic polymers

Sustainable Carbon Fibers Enable Stable Long‐Term Lithium Metal Deposition for Prospective Zero‐Excess Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents lightweight, lignin‐derived carbon fiber current collectors that enable controlled lithium deposition. Structural defects and intermediate‐sized pores stabilize pre‐nucleation quasi‐metallic lithium clusters, promoting uniform lithium plating and stripping.
