Composites comprising cholesterol and carboxymethyl cellulose

open access: yesColloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2008
Whereby cholesterol presents one of the major fatty substances in human body, carboxymethyl cellulose is a water-soluble derivative of cellulose, the most abundant dietary fiber. Whereas on one hand in vivo precipitation of cholesterol is the major cause of atherosclerosis, dietary fibers are on the other hand known for their ability to clean the fatty

Flame Suppression in Lithium‐Ion Batteries During Thermal Runaway Through Solvent Design Considering the Volatility–Flammability Relationship

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An asymmetric sulfonate solvent forms thermally stable interphases and demonstrates non‐flammability, suppressing heat accumulation for safer, high‐performance lithium‐ion batteries. ABSTRACT An asymmetric sulfonate‐based linear solvent, 2,2,2‐trifluoromethyl mesylate (FMS), is designed and used as the primary solvent in liquid electrolytes to enhance ...

Study on Characteristics of Six Polysaccharides and Cellulose Blends [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
In order to study the internal cross-linking mechanism between cellulose and polysaccharides as wet-end additives in papermaking reconstituted tobacco, crystalline cellulose (MCC) was used as the target in this paper, sodium alginate (SA) , pullulan (Pul)

Multiscale Carbon‐Integrated Silicon Anode for Stable Cycling Under Practical Lithium‐Ion Battery Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
To overcome silicon anode instability, a hierarchical silicon/carbon composite fabricated from industrial waste via a scalable milling process is demonstrated. In‐depth post‐mortem analysis reveals how functional carbons—a CNT network and graphene shell—synergistically suppress degradation. This robust design delivers outstanding stability in practical
