Pharmacological Modulation of Nrf2 Signaling Regulates Oxidative Stress, Inflammation, and Alveolar Bone Loss in Experimental Periodontitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
Pharmacological activation of Nrf2 attenuated alveolar bone loss and protected periodontal tissues by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, preserving collagen organization, and favoring bone homeostasis. Reversal of these effects by Nrf2 inhibition further supports Nrf2 signaling as a promising therapeutic target in periodontitis.

The Behaviour of Some Vegetable-Based Materials Used as Edible Coating on Chicken Nuggets

open access: yesFood Technology and Biotechnology, 2011
In this study, chicken nuggets were predusted with zein or soy protein isolate (SPI) as the first coating. Next they were coated with 0.1, 0.2 or 0.3 % carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) batters as the second coating, and then breaded with bread crumbs ...

Heterologous Wharton's Jelly Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Application on a Large Chronic Skin Wound in a 6-Month-Old Filly

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2019
A complex feedback of growth factors, secreted by a variety of cell types, is responsible for the mediation of skin healing. Despite the recent advances in wound healing management, this fails up to 50% and skin wounds can still be considered one of the ...
