ML Workflows for Screening Degradation‐Relevant Properties of Forever Chemicals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The environmental persistence of per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) necessitates efficient remediation strategies. This study presents physics‐informed machine learning workflows that accurately predict critical degradation properties, including bond dissociation energies and polarizability.

Comparative study on the degradation of dibutyl phthalate by two newly isolated Pseudomonas sp. V21b and Comamonas sp. 51F

open access: yesBiotechnology Reports, 2017
Dibutyl phthalate is (DBP) the top priority toxicant responsible for carcinogenicity, teratogenicity and endocrine disruption. This study demonstrates the DBP degradation capability of the two newly isolated bacteria from municipal solid waste leachate ...

Evaluation and Grading of Rat Liver Foci in Carcinogenicity Tests

open access: yes, 1989
The significance of rat liver foci in carcinogenesis testing received major attention following their description in the National Cancer Institute workshop of 1974. However, the biological nature of foci remains uncertain despite numerous studies during

Engineering Microbial Particles for Next‐Generation Biomedical Platforms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microbe‐derived particles (MDPs), which include extracellular vesicles, outer membrane vesicles, inclusion bodies, polysaccharide particles, and virus‐like particles, represent a rapidly expanding category of bioinspired nanomaterials. With their natural origin, intrinsic biocompatibility, and highly programmable functionality, MDPs serve as a ...

Amidase‐Catalyzed Desorption of CO2 Captured in Aqueous Monoethanolamine (MEA) Solutions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
CO2 is captured in aqueous monoethanolamine (MEA) sorbents as carbamate and bicarbonate/carbonate. The subsequent desorption for storage or utilization is energy‐intensive, and this is a major impediment to industrial carbon dioxide removal (CDR) processes. The desorption process can be promoted by enzymes that catalyze the dissociation of distinct CO2‐

An in vivo cytogenetic analysis of human oral squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesSouth Asian Journal of Cancer, 2015
Background: Oral cancer ranks in the top three of all cancers in India, which accounts for over 30% of all cancers reported in the country. The micronucleus test (MNT) is one of the most widely applied short term tests used in genetic toxicology to ...

Global gene expression analysis in the liver of mice administered carcinogens and non-carcinogens For the development of a new rapid and reliable carcinogenicity test

open access: yes, 2017
Although much has been elucidated about the mechanism of cellular carcinogenesis, evaluation of the carcinogenicity of substances is still difficult. Since a number of new synthetic materials for drugs and food have been developed, it is necessary to ...

ABHD17C‐Mediated S‐Depalmitoylation of BCL6B Enhances CD24 Transcription to Resist Macrophage Phagocytosis in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABHD17C‐mediated depalmitoylation of BCL6B at Cys442 blocks its nuclear import and triggers ubiquitin‐dependent degradation, attenuating transcriptional repression of the anti‐phagocytic signal CD24. This mechanism enables pancreatic cancer cells to evade macrophage phagocytosis and fosters an immunosuppressive microenvironment.

Dual‐Substrate Synergistic Photocatalysis: Exogenous Reagent‐Free Co‐Removal of Phenol and Cr(VI) via Electron‐Donor‐Mediated Redox Coupling over Modified Carbon Nitride

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An exogenous reagent‐free dual‐substrate strategy harnesses phenol as an intrinsic electron donor to drive synchronous phenol degradation and Cr(VI) reduction over modified carbon nitride. π–π stacking and hydrogen bonding direct electron transfer to the catalyst, enriching photogenerated electrons and accelerating Cr(VI) reduction 6.4‐fold. This waste‐
