Neuroendocrine carcinomas of the breast [PDF]
INTRODUCTION: Neuroendocrine (NE) breast cancers encompass a heterogeneous group of tumours showing morphological features similar to those of NE neoplasms of the gut and lung and expressing one or more neuroendocrine markers (neuron specific enolase ...

[Ductal carcinoma in situ of the breast].
The Authors report their experience about 127 ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the breast. Guidelines for surgical treatment are: radiological or clinical diagnosis, tumor's extension, histological classification, grading and margin status. At the present the Authors prefer breast conserving surgery with tumor margin's study.

Comparing VIP and PD‐L1 expression as cancer biomarkers
Abstract Immune checkpoint molecules are critical targets of cancer therapies due to their ability to modulate immune responses to cancer. Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) has been proposed as an immune checkpoint molecule, but its predictive and prognostic values have not been established.

Variable Selection with Random Survival Forest and Bayesian Additive Regression Tree for Survival Data [PDF]
In this paper we utilize a survival analysis methodology incorporating Bayesian additive regression trees to account for nonlinear and additive covariate effects. We compare the performance of Bayesian additive regression trees, Cox proportional hazards and random survival forests models for censored survival data, using simulation studies and survival

COPS5 Triggers Ferroptosis Defense by Stabilizing MK2 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma
COPS5, which is overexpressed in HCC in an amplification‐ and ATF4‐dependent manner, stabilizes MK2 through deubiquitination and, in turn, induces HSPB1 activation, protecting HCC cells from ferroptosis and thus promoting sorafenib resistance and tumor progression. Abstract Sorafenib, which is proven to serve as a potent ferroptosis inducer, is used as

Granulomatous reaction associated with breast carcinoma: A report of two cases
The presence of a granulomatous reaction in association with a breast carcinoma is a rare phenomenon. We present two cases of breast carcinoma, invasive ductal and invasive lobular carcinoma in which a non-caseating granulomatous response was present ...

Deep learning analysis of breast MRIs for prediction of occult invasive disease in ductal carcinoma in situ [PDF]
Purpose: To determine whether deep learning-based algorithms applied to breast MR images can aid in the prediction of occult invasive disease following the di- agnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) by core needle biopsy. Material and Methods: In this institutional review board-approved study, we analyzed dynamic contrast-enhanced fat-saturated T1 ...

In vitro and in vivo inhibition of breast cancer cell growth by targeting the Hedgehog/GLI pathway with SMO (GDC-0449) or GLI (GANT-61) inhibitors. [PDF]
Aberrant Hedgehog (Hh)/glioma-associated oncogene (GLI) signaling has been implicated in cancer progression. Here, we analyzed GLI1, Sonic Hedgehog (Shh) and NF-κB expression in 51 breast cancer (ductal carcinoma) tissues using immunohistochemistry ...
