Superficially invasive cervical squamous cell carcinoma metastatic to ovarian endometriotic cyst wall, a case report and brief review of the literature

open access: yesJournal of Ovarian Research, 2018
Background Although cases of cervical squamous cell carcinoma metastatic to the ovary have been previously documented, we report the first case of superficially invasive squamous cell carcinoma metastatic to the ovary.

Mixed epithelial and stromal tumour with extension to vesicoureteric junction

open access: yesAsian Journal of Urology, 2019
Mixed epithelial and stromal tumour (MEST) is an uncommon renal tumour with a tendency to protrude into the collecting system. We present a 50-year-old woman with a renal tumour extending up to the vesicoureteric junction (VUJ) who was suspected to have ...

Transitional cell carcinoma of the endometrium and endometrial carcinoma with transitional cell differentiation [PDF]

open access: yesCancer, 1997
Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) is rare in the female genital tract. Although it is most common in the ovary, small series of cases in the cervix have been reported, with isolated cases described in the fallopian tube, adnexa uteri, and endometrium.Eight cases of primary TCC involving the endometrium and 1 case of ovarian TCC metastatic to the ...

Metástasis cutánea de carcinoma de células de transición

open access: yesGalicia Clínica, 2021
Lymph nodes, bones, lung, liver, and peritoneum are the most common sites of metastasis from transitional cell bladder carcinoma. Cutaneous metastases from primary genitourinary malignancies are rare and very few cases of skin metastasis from urothelial ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Metastatic renal cell carcinoma masquerading as a primary ovarian mass in a post-operative case of meningioma and renal cell carcinoma

open access: yesRare Tumors, 2015
The clinical presentation of metastatic renal cell carcinoma to ovary is extremely rare as well as confusing due to its close resemblance to primary ovarian tumors, especially clear cell carcinoma.

A cell line from an anaplastic transitional cell carcinoma of human urinary bladder.

open access: yesBritish Journal of Cancer, 1977
A cell line, TCCSUP, derived from an undifferentiated, Grade IV transitional cell carcinoma is described. The karyotype showed an abnormal distribution of chromosomes, with no obvious modal number.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by
