Methodology for the nocturnal cardiac arrhythmia ancillary study of the ADVENT-HF trial in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and sleep-disordered breathing

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cardiology: Heart & Vasculature, 2022
Background: Sleep disordered breathing (SDB) may trigger nocturnal cardiac arrhythmias (NCA) in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).

Unlocking the enigma: decoding premature ventricular complexes for effective clinical assessment and risk management

open access: yesEuropean Heart Journal, Supplement
The identification of ventricular premature complexes during a cardiological evaluation necessitates the implementation of diagnostic processes aimed at discerning the clinical context that may predispose individuals to a high risk of sudden cardiac ...

Holter Monitor Rhythm Parameters in Healthy Infants, Children, and Adolescents: Defining Reference Limits With Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background Ambulatory electrocardiography has been in clinical use for 5 decades. However, reference limits for rhythm parameters in healthy infants, children, and adolescents have not been adequately defined.

Electrocardiographic surrogates of structural myocardial alterations in the Dorper sheep heart

open access: yesOnderstepoort Journal of Veterinary Research, 2005
In this study we evaluated the validity of well-known human electrocardiographic markers of myocardial pathology in Dorper sheep. These markers include: the duration of the QRS complex of premature ventricular complexes (PVCs), the presence of ...

Radiation therapy alleviates Doege–Potter syndrome accompanied with severe aortic valve insufficiency: a case report and literature review

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundDoege–Potter syndrome (DPS) is a rare paraneoplastic condition characterized by hypoglycemia resulting from the excessive secretion of insulin-like growth factor-2 (IGF-2) by a solitary fibrous tumor (SFT).

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.

Building a Framework for Sexual and Reproductive Health Care in the Rheumatology Context: Content and Approaches

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
People with systemic autoimmune and rheumatic diseases (SARDs) are at higher risk than the general population of experiencing adverse pregnancy and perinatal outcomes such as preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction, and maternal and/or fetal death.

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.

The effect of surgical cure of primary hyperparathyroidism on cardiac electrical activity: a cross−sectional study

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
Cardiovascular complications are not assessed routinely in the management of primary hyperparathyroidism (pHPT), nor do they constitute indications for surgical treatment of this disorder. Research concerning the effects on cardiac electrical activity in
