Cardiac Arrhythmias In Congenital Heart Diseases

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal, 2009
Arrhythmias figure prominently among the complications encountered in the varied and diverse population of patients with congenital heart disease, and are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality. The incidence generally increases as the patient ages,

Infusible Extracellular Matrix Biomaterial Enhances Cell‐Specific Pro‐Repair Responses Following Acute Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We measure the cell‐specific responses of administering infusible ECM (iECM) in acute myocardial infarction (MI) across multiple timepoints. Using single‐nucleus RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, we measure macrophage activation, fibroblast remodeling, increased vascular development, lymphangiogenesis, cardioprotection, and neurogenesis ...

Cardiac sarcoidosis presenting as multiple right intra-atrial masses mimicking cardiac tumor

open access: yesCardio-Oncology
Background Cardiac sarcoidosis though in itself, a rare entity, very rarely presents primarily with conduction abnormalities as the primary manifestation in the spectrum of presentations accounted by this chronic granulomatous systemic disease ...

Generation of an iPSC cell line (VANYHHi001-A) from a patient with cardiac arrythmias carrying CACNA1D, SCN5A, and DSP variants

open access: yesStem Cell Research
Progressive cardiac conduction defect often associated with variants in sodium voltage-gated channel SCN5A gene and variants in the L-type calcium voltage-gated channel CACNA1D gene are implicated in sinoatrial node dysfunction.

Restoring heart function and electrical integrity: closing the circuit

open access: yesnpj Regenerative Medicine, 2017
Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death in the world and are often associated with the occurrence of arrhythmias due to disruption of myocardial electrical integrity.

Noninvasive cardiac assessment in children of women with systemic lupus erythematosus

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, 2003
OBJECTIVE: Noninvasive cardiac assessment of newborns and infants of women with systemic lupus erythematosus. The children had no congenital total atrioventricular block and were compared with the children of healthy women.

Chamber‐Specific Decellularized Extracellular Matrices Differentially Modulate Cardiomyocyte Subtypes to Drive Engineered Heart Tissue Development and Function

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Chamber‐specific decellularized extracellular matrices (ECMs) were developed, preserving native proteomic profiles of ventricular and atrial myocardium. These innate biochemical cues differentially modulate cardiomyocyte subtypes to drive engineered heart tissue development and function, highlighting the importance of incorporating regional ECM cues in

Coaxially Electrospun Myocardial dECM‐ Based Nanofibrous Scaffolds Demonstrate Enhanced Cardiomyocyte Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Our coaxial electrospinning system is capable of incorporating decellularized myocardial extracellular matrix in a core‐sheath configuration, creating nanofibrous scaffolds. These scaffolds, in turn, support the maintenance of functional cardiomyocytes adhered to the surface of these bioactive scaffolds.

Molecular Mechanisms of Cardiac Adaptation After Device Deployment

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease
Cardiac devices have transformed the management of heart failure, ventricular arrhythmias, ischemic cardiomyopathy, and valvular heart disease. Technologies such as cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), conduction system pacing, left ventricular ...

Effect Of Vitamin D Status On Invasive Electrophysiologic Parameters and Atrial Fibrillation Inducibility

open access: yesVan Tıp Dergisi, 2019
INTRODUCTION: Deficiencies of Vitamin D (VitD) has been associated with coronary heart disease, hypertension and left ventricular hypertropy. However its effects on cardiac conduction system and atrial fibrillation (AF) predisposition has not been ...
