Cardiac Manifestations of Adrenal Insufficiency
It is estimated that the prevalence of primary adrenal insufficiency (Addison disease) is 1 in 10,000 people. There are multiple case reports and several studies that suggest a correlation between Addison disease and abnormalities of cardiac function. The pathophysiology of cardiac abnormalities in this condition is incompletely understood. This review

Relation between mild renal dysfunction and outcomes after coronary artery bypass grafting
Background: Risk stratification algorithms for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) do not include a weighting for preoperative mild renal impairment defined as a serum creatinine 130 to 199 micromol/L (1.47 to 2.25 mg/dL), which may impact mortality ...

NMN improves cardiac function in SIRT3 knockout mice via the SIRT1/PGC-1α pathway
SIRT3 knockout mice develop cardiac insufficiency due to decreased mitochondrial function. However, upregulation of the NAD+/NADH ratio can compensate for SIRT3 deficiency through the SIRT1/PGC-1α pathway, thereby improving mitochondrial function.
