Scapular renal cell carcinoma metastasis as a cause of high-output heart failure: a case report
Background High-output heart failure is a rare condition that occurs when the heart is unable to respond to a sustained increase in blood demand. On echocardiography, a cardiac index of > 4 L/min/m2 (or 6 L/min) is a clear indicator of this disorder. The

A staggered-in-time and non-conforming-in-space numerical framework for realistic cardiac electrophysiology outputs [PDF]
Computer-based simulations of non-invasive cardiac electrical outputs, such as electrocardiograms and body surface potential maps, usually entail severe computational costs due to the need of capturing fine-scale processes and to the complexity of the heart-torso morphology. In this work, we model cardiac electrical outputs by employing a coupled model

SUMMARY A comparatively simple mathematical expression has been devised for the computation of the area under the cardiac output curve which is easy to use, quick to give a result, and yet is comparable in accuracy to other methods of determining cardiac output when the dye dilution technique is used.

Breast cancer metastasis is associated with myeloid cell dysregulation and the lung‐specific accumulation of tumor‐supportive Gr1+ cells. Gr1+ cells support metastasis, in part, through a CHI3L1‐mediated mechanism, which can be targeted and inhibited with cargo‐free, polymeric nanoparticles.
