Cardiovascular Autonomic Neuropathy in Charcot–Marie–Tooth Disease: A Genotype‐Stratified Study of PMP22 Duplication and GJB1 Mutation Carriers

open access: yesJournal of the Peripheral Nervous System, Volume 31, Issue 4, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Data on cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (CAN) are sparse in Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease. We aimed to determine the prevalence of CAN in CMT1A and CMTX1 and its associations with neuropathy severity and heart rate variability (HRV), compared with age‐ and sex‐matched controls. Methods Thirty‐six CMT1A, 24 CMTX1 patients,

Late INa as a Therapeutic Target: New Strategies, Computational Modelling, Drug Development, and Clinical Translation

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, Volume 46, Issue 6, Page 1939-1957, November 2026.
ABSTRACT The Nav1.5 channel, a major isoform of voltage‐gated sodium ion channel, is mainly found in ventricular cardiomyocytes, playing a key role in generating essential cardiac action potentials for normal heart rhythms. Mutations in Nav1.5 have been associated with severe heart conditions such as long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, cardiac ...

Natural history of artificial urinary sphincter cuff erosion in males: Experience from two tertiary centres in the United Kingdom

open access: yesBJUI Compass, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Objectives This study aimed to describe the natural history of urethral cuff erosion (UCE) following artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) implantation, including the incidence of urethral stricture and fistula formation, and the outcomes of salvage AUS reimplantation, based on the experience of two UK tertiary centres.

Nationwide Lifespan Trends in Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device Strategies in Japan: Age‐Dependent Changes in Transvenous and Epicardial Systems

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Nationwide data revealed age‐dependent differences in CIED implantation strategies. Epicardial systems remain essential in pediatric and congenital heart disease care, whereas alternative technologies are increasingly adopted in older adult populations, reflecting evolving lifespan‐related device strategies.

Intraoperative Application of the PRAETORIAN Score to Predict Optimal Subcutaneous Implantable Cardioverter‐Defibrillator Placement

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Intraoperative supine PRAETORIAN score assessment showed excellent concordance with conventional standing assessment in Japanese patients undergoing S‐ICD implantation. Numerical score changes were associated with elevated BMI, suggesting that careful interpretation is warranted in these patients. ABSTRACT Background The PRAETORIAN score (PS) estimates
