Biointerfacing with AgBiS2 Quantum Dots for Pseudocapacitive Photostimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is demonstrated that AgBiS2 quantum dots exhibit unique photoinduced pseudocapacitive charge transfer properties, enabling efficient light‐to‐electrical energy conversion. These quantum dots facilitate enhanced light absorption and transduction when integrated with ZnO nanowires, which serve as an effective charge transport medium.

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Supercritical Fluid‐Processed Multifunctional Hybrid Decellularized Extracellular Matrix with Chitosan Hydrogel for Improving Photoaged Dermis Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
These findings advance tissue repair by offering a multifunctional filler that improves large‐scale volume retention, elasticity, and support for vascularized tissue growth. The decellularized extracellular matrix (dECM)‐based material provides low injection force and minimizes swelling, ensuring sustained volume. Combining CMC with supercritical fluid‐

Novel Entropy-Based Metrics for Long-Term Atrial Fibrillation Recurrence Prediction Following Surgical Ablation: Insights from Preoperative Electrocardiographic Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy 2024, 26, 28
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a prevalent cardiac arrhythmia often treated concomitantly with other cardiac interventions through the Cox Maze procedure. This highly invasive intervention is still linked to a long-term recurrence rate of approximately 35% in permanent AF patients. The aim of this study is to preoperatively predict long-term AF recurrence

A Novel 3D High‐Throughput Phenotypic Drug Screening Pipeline to Identify Drugs with Repurposing Potential for the Treatment of Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Ovarian cancer's high recurrence and therapy resistance demand new strategies. A high‐throughput drug screening pipeline using 3D spheroids, which showed poor concordance with 2D models, identified rapamycin as a promising candidate. In combination with cisplatin, rapamycin demonstrated significant in vitro and in vivo efficacy, highlighting the ...
