NFS1 Regulates IDH2 to Attenuate Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms via Interacting With SP2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The loss of NFS1 leads to its reduced binding with the transcription factor SP2, resulting in decreased expression of the downstream gene Idh2. This causes a shift in energy supply toward glycolysis in VSMCs, ultimately contributing to the occurrence and progression of AAA.

Cardiac melanoma – a rare echocardiographic finding in emergency room settings

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Cardiology
Melanoma is a rare and aggressive type of cancer that can metastasize to any organ of the body, including the heart. The most common symptoms are shortness of breath (36.4%) and tachycardia (24.2%). Given that these are the most common cardiovascular and

Mitochondrial Calcium Uniporter Drives Chemoresistance in Pancreatic Cancer via Glutathione‐Mediated Stemness Maintenance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PDAC has a poor prognosis due to chemoresistance. We revealed that MCU upregulation is associated with chemoresistance and stemness in PDAC. MCU‐mediated Ca2+ influx induced ER stress, activating the PERK‐ATF4/NRF2 axis to enhance PSAT1/SLC711 expression and glutathione synthesis, reducing ROS and maintaining stemness.

Tendon Organoids Enable Functional Tendon Rejuvenation Through ALKBH5‐Dependent RNA Demethylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FT organoids reverse the aged phenotype of tendon cells, reinstating a fetal‐like state. This breakthrough establishes a potent cell source for tendon tissue engineering, effectively advancing regenerative medicine. ABSTRACT Adult tendon injuries pose a major clinical challenge due to limited self‐repair capacity, resulting in suboptimal regeneration ...

Association between gut microbiota and malignant cardiac tumors: A two‐sample Mendelian randomization study

open access: yesCancer Medicine
Background Recent studies provide compelling evidence linking the gut microbiota to most cancers. Nevertheless, further research is required to establish a definitive causal relationship between the gut microbiota and malignant cardiac tumors.

Dysfunctional TRIM31 of POMC Neurons Provokes Hypothalamic Injury and Peripheral Metabolic Disorder under Long‐Term Fine Particulate Matter Exposure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Particulate matter ≤2.5 µm (PM2.5) elevates risks of neurological and chronic metabolic diseases, but the underlying mechanisms linking PM2.5‐induced central nervous system (CNS) injury to metabolic dysfunction remain unclear. Hypothalamic pro‐opiomelanocortin‐expressing (POMC+) neurons regulate systemic metabolic homeostasis, and tripartite motif ...
