Optimising the Decarboxylation of Anacardic Acid by Exploring the Temperature Effects

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) is one of the raw materials extracted from cashew nut shells (CNS). This liquid can be processed to produce cardanol through the decarboxylation of anacardic acid, a significant isolate from CNSL. The decarboxylation process involves heating anacardic acid to a favourable reaction temperature.

Identifying the gene responsible for non‐photochemical quenching reversal in Phaeodactylum tricornutum

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 120, Issue 5, Page 2113-2126, December 2024.
SUMMARY Algae such as diatoms and haptophytes have distinct photosynthetic pigments from plants, including a novel set of carotenoids. This includes a primary xanthophyll cycle comprised of diadinoxanthin and its de‐epoxidation product diatoxanthin that enables the switch between light harvesting and non‐photochemical quenching (NPQ)‐mediated ...
