A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Anti-HIV drugs (emtricitabine and lamivudine) mediated micellization behavior of anionic and cationic surfactants: A thermodynamic investigation

open access: yesChemical Physics Impact
Aggregation behavior of conventional surfactants; SDS (anionic) and CTAB (cationic) in aqueous medium has been investigated in the presence of anti-HIV drugs; Emtricitabine (ECT) and Lamivudine (LMV) using conductometry, UV–Visible spectroscopy, and ...

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Beyond the Game: Exploring the Interplay of Career Thoughts, Career Adaptability, and Athletic Identity in Shaping Postgraduation Paths for Student Athletes

open access: yesJournal of Postsecondary Student Success
College student athletes represent a unique subpopulation of university students. Balancing expectations for academics, practice, and performance leaves little time to engage in thoughtful career exploration and postgraduate planning.

Feasibility of a ctDNA multigenic panel for non‐small‐cell lung cancer early detection and disease surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Plasma‐based detection of actionable mutations is a promising approach in lung cancer management. Analysis of ctDNA with a multigene NGS panel identified TP53, KRAS, and EGFR as the most frequently altered, with TP53 and KRAS in treatment‐naïve patients and TP53 and EGFR in previously treated patients.

Numerical analysis of mixed convection and Thomson-Troian slip effects on ternary nanofluid flow and heat transfer over a stretching sheet with porous media: Darcy-Forchheimer model

open access: yesApplied and Computational Mechanics
The present study unveils research that examines the laminar motion of water-infused nanofluid comprised of nanoparticles of TiO2 (titanium dioxide), Ag (silver), and Cu (copper) over a stretching sheet. The flow undergoes a novel slip condition based on

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Career development

open access: yes, 2011
Career development is a lifelong endeavor that starts in childhood and usually ends in old age after retirement from paid work. We discuss career development as the interplay of individual social and institutional contexts. The first chapter treats theoretical perspectives on Career Development. Then transition was discussed as a challenge.

Tumor and germline testing with next generation sequencing in epithelial ovarian cancer: a prospective paired comparison using an 18‐gene panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Genetic testing in epithelial ovarian cancer includes both germline and tumor‐testing. This approach often duplicates resources. The current prospective study assessed the feasibility of tumor‐first multigene testing by comparing tumor tissue with germline testing of peripheral blood using an 18‐gene NGS panel in 106 patients.
