Predicting Career Stability and Mobility

This study tested occupational embeddedness and boundaryless career attitudes as a complementary explanation for career stability and mobility, in occupations previously known for lifetime employment. A largely untapped source of potential nurses are paramedics and emergency technicians. The author reports the results of a testing program to assess advanced placement options for paramedics. Interestingly, the paramedics scored higher in seven of nine categories compared with the scores of sophomore nursing students.
