Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1950Summary A rot of papaya fruits caused by Ascochyta caricae has been observed in the papaya-growing tracts of Assam. The symptoms of the disease and the morphology of the parasite on the host are described. The pathogenicity of the fungus was established by inoculation experiments carried out with pure cultures on wounded and unwounded fruits.
