Abstract In a recent revision of the Barbouridae Christoffersen, 1987, the authorship for the subfamily Calliasmatinae was cited as “Holthuis, 1973.” This is incorrect as the subfamily name has not been used before. We here diagnose the Calliasmatinae as a new subfamily and validate the name.
