Using a 3‐year, broad‐scale camera‐trap network in western Kansas, we tested whether coyotes and American badgers exhibit spatiotemporal patterns consistent with coordinated hunting. Despite high diel activity overlap, detection‐conditioned co‐detections occurred far less frequently than expected under independence, and short‐term temporal sequencing ...

Many nocturnal animals are difficult to study because they are rarely seen, including nocturnal primates, galagos and pottos, in West Africa. Working with over 600 people in 52 villages in southern Guinea‐Bissau, we found that communities frequently recognized galagos by their red eyeshine and distinctive calls, while pottos were not known.

Although once abundant across its range, gray foxes (Urocyon cinereoargenteus) are purportedly declining. While range maps indicate that gray fox potentially occur throughout the central United States, contemporary distribution maps are needed. We developed a Habitat Suitability Model for six states, leveraging gray fox presence data in an ensemble ...

Human‐caused leopard deaths in Sri Lanka averaged 9.65 ± 4.5 records year−1 over 17 years (2008–2024; n = 164), with records highly clustered in the central highland mosaic ecosystem. Mortality was dominated by adult males and driven primarily by snaring in plantation landscapes, and indicating an increase approximately 0.7–0.8 deaths per year.

We used drone‐based radiotelemetry and multispectral imagery to estimate detection and survival probabilities of blue‐winged teal broods in Saskatchewan, Canada. Weekly brood survival probabilities, estimated via Cormack‐Jolly‐Seber models, increased with age and were comparable between drone methods.
