Croatia is one of the rare European countries with all three large carnivores – brown bear (Ursus arctos), grey wolf (Canis lupus) and Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx). Also, golden jackal is present and is an important factor, although traditionally the species is not considered as a large carnivore.
