Abstract This technical note describes the use of a manual graphic roadmap (MGR) to assist fluoroscopic guidance during transarterial coil embolization (TACE) for guttural pouch (GP) arterial hemorrhage. Horses underwent MGR‐assisted TACE at the Equine Clinic, Free University of Berlin, between 2012 and 2024.

Pathophysiology of flow impairment during carotid artery stenting with an embolus protection filter
Objective: Carotid artery stenting (CAS) is a well-accepted treatment for atherosclerotic stenosis of carotid arteries. Since the occurrence of distal embolization with CAS is still a major concern embolus protection devices (EPD) are usually employed ...

Carotid artery dissection linked to intermittent apnoeic swimming: A case–control study
Abstract Internal carotid artery (ICA) dissection is a rare and potentially devastating cause of cerebral ischaemia, initiated by an intimal tear or rupture of the vasa vasorum, that can lead to an intraluminal thrombus, vascular stenosis, occlusion, or dissecting aneurysm formation.

Computational analysis to assess hemodynamic forces in descending thoracic aortic aneurysms
Abstract figure legend Left: Pre‐processing. First, we perform the segmentation of the Computer Tomography angiorgraphy (angio‐CT) scans of a healthy patient, obtaining the surface of a healthy thoracic aorta with a Type III aortic arch. Then, we build nine ideal configurations with Descending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm (DTAA), varying the aortic arch ...

An investigation into the influence of stent strut thickness on in-stent restenosis using the finite element method [PDF]
In-stent restenosis represents the major limitation for stenting procedures. In-stent restenosis is the renarrowing o f the artery lumen within a stent predominantly due to excessive growth of neointimal hyperplasia.

Bioresorbable Scaffolds for Coronary Arteries: Where Do We Stand Today?
Bioresorbable coronary scaffolds are moving from thick strut pitfalls to thinner, stronger, healing‐oriented designs. Integrating advances in materials, guided implantation with preparation, size, and postdilation steps, and resorption aligned to healing, we synthesize clinical evidence and chart a roadmap toward intelligent, transient platforms ...
