Abstract Foliar flavonoids from nine taxa of subsection Carpinus (Carpinus, Betulaceae) were examined. A total of 10 compounds were isolated and identified, mainly mono- and di-glycosides of flavones (apigenin and luteolin) and/or flavonols (myricetin, kaempferol and quercetin).
