Carrier-Envelope Phase Stabilization

2013
After introducing some fundamental concepts and definitions for carrier-envelope stabilization schemes and frequency combs, measurement schemes for the carrier-envelope phase of oscillators and amplified systems are discussed. In particular, care is taken to point out typical problems in the experimental implementation of such schemes and to indicate ...

Phase comparison carrier relaying

Electrical Engineering, 1953
THE ADDITION OF a third terminal or a transformer bank to a 2-terminal line section has economic advantages, but presents problems when using phase comparison carrier relaying on such a line. In this type of relaying, the phase angles of the currents at the line terminals are compared over a carrier channel.

GLONASS Carrier Phases

2003
Processing of GLONASS carrier phase observations differs from that of GPS. These differences are briefly reviewed. Presently GLONASS does not contain selective availability (SA). Simply graphing between-satellite differences reveals parts of SA that is implemented on GPS satellite signals.

RF carrier phase-burst transmitter

2013 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest (MTT), 2013
The potential high efficiency of RF carrier-burst transmitters has drawn the increasing attention of various researchers. This architecture uses an on-off mode of a constant-amplitude phase modulated carrier, according to the selected envelope-to-duty-cycle conversion (PWM or sigma-delta), requiring an implementation with two transistors, often in ...

Soft carrier phase recovery for continuous phase modulations

2010 European Wireless Conference (EW), 2010
In this paper a general soft-based synchronization technique for continuous phase modulations (CPM) is presented. In particular two soft carrier phase estimation algorithms are derived, being the phase the parameter that shows the lower implementation complexity.

Carrier-envelope phase-stable spatiotemporal light bullets

Optics Letters, 2015
We present an extensive experimental investigation of the self-focusing and filamentation of intense 90 fs, 1.8 μm, carrier-envelope phase-stable laser pulses in fused silica in the anomalous group velocity dispersion region. Spectral measurements in a wedge-shaped sample uncover dynamics of spectral broadening, which captures the evolution of third ...

Continuous time transfer using GPS carrier phase

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 2002
The Astronomical Institute of the University of Berne is hosting one of the Analysis Centers (AC) of the International GPS Service (IGS). A network of a few GPS stations in Europe and North America is routinely analyzed for time transfer purposes, using the carrier phase observations. This work is done in the framework of a joint project with the Swiss

Nonlinear effects on the carrier-envelope phase

Optics Letters, 2004
Calculations, using the Maxwell equations, are presented of nonlinear effects on the carrier-envelope phase for pulse durations in the two-optical-cycle range for pulses propagating in sapphire. Initially, with increasing pulse intensity the carrier-envelope phase increases monotonically.

GPS carrier phase ambiguity fixing concepts

1998
High precision relative GPS positioning is based on the very precise carrier phase measurements. A prerequisite for obtaining high precision relative positioning results is that the double-differenced carrier phase ambiguities become sufficiently separable from the baseline coordinates. Different approaches are in use and have been proposed to ensure a

Intelligent phase comparison carrier protection

6th International Conference on Developments in Power Systems Protection, 1997
Conventional phase comparison carrier protection mainly consists of three units-starting unit, phase discriminator and trip relay. The phase discriminator is the brain of phase comparison protection. It compares the measured phase shift of the high-frequency carrier current signals /spl theta/ at the two ends of the protected transmission line with the
