Monolithic carrier-envelope phase-stabilization scheme

Optics Letters, 2005
A new scheme for stabilizing the carrier-envelope (CE) phase of a few-cycle laser pulse train is demonstrated. Self-phase modulation and difference-frequency generation in a single periodically poled lithium niobate crystal that transmits the main laser beam allows CE phase locking directly in the usable output.

Carrier and Symbol Phase Synchronizers.

2012
In this work, we will study the carrier phase Lock Loop (CPLL) when the input carrier changes its shape. The CPLL has four prototypes which are the analog, the hybrid, the combinational and the sequential. The input carrier can be a sinusoidal wave, a triangular wave or a rectangular wave.

Data-aided carrier phase estimation for GMSK

IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2003. ICC '03., 2004
This paper examines the bias in data-aided maximum likelihood carrier phase estimation for GMSK based on a linear detector structure using only the first Laurent pulse. The bias in the ML phase estimate increases with decreasing BT/sub b/ and decreasing training sequence length.

Impact of Carrier Phase Jitter on IFDMA Systems

2006 IEEE 17th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2006
In this paper, we study the impact of carrier phase jitter on the performance of an Interleaved Frequency Division Multiple Access (IFDMA) system. With this aim, we compute the Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) degradation caused by the phase jitter at the input of the decision device.

Phase comparison carrier relaying

Electrical Engineering, 1953
THE ADDITION OF a third terminal or a transformer bank to a 2-terminal line section has economic advantages, but presents problems when using phase comparison carrier relaying on such a line. In this type of relaying, the phase angles of the currents at the line terminals are compared over a carrier channel.

Blind carrier phase estimation in PAM systems

Seventh International Symposium on Signal Processing and Its Applications, 2003. Proceedings., 2003
A novel blind algorithm for pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) carrier phase recovery is presented in this paper. This algorithm has been derived after reformulating the PAM carrier recovery problem as a 2/spl times/2 dimensional source separation problem. Also this algorithm is made recursive to track any time variations in the underlying phase.

A Fine Carrier Phase Recovery Method for 32APSK

2018
When 32-ary amplitude phase shift keying (32APSK) modulation is used in the communication system, carrier recovery is one of the most important technology. The decision-directed (DD) phase locked loop (PLL) is widely used for carrier recovery. Based on the decision-directed (DD) phase locked loop (PLL) algorithm, the paper proposes a new fine carrier ...

Phase-Noise-to-Carrier Ratio in LC Oscillators

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, 2000
An analysis is presented in this contribution to describe the steady-state amplitude of a CMOS LC Colpitts oscillator, as well as its response to small interferences. The problem of signal dependency of noise sources is also addressed. The general conclusions of the analysis are applicable to most LC oscillators.

Considerations on Gnss-R Carrier Phase Altimetry

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
The European Space Agency has recently studied, assessed or approved GNSS Reflectometry mission concepts based partly or fully on carrier phase observables for altimetry applications. Examples of these are, respectively, the GEROS-ISS experiment on board the International Space Station, the G- TERN Earth Explorer proposal or the PRETTY cubesat mission,
