Four-wave mixing in quantum dot SOAs: Theory of carrier heating
Carrier heating (CH) theory in a four-wave mixing quantum dot structure has been investigated. The impact of wetting layer (WL) carrier density, CH time constant, effective intraband relaxation time have been examined.

A Method of Non-Data-Aided Carrier Recovery with Modulation Identification [PDF]
A non-data aided carrier recovery technique using modulation format identification is proposed. This technique can also be interpreted as a modulation identification method that is robust against static phase and frequency offsets. The performance of the

We find that the sheet resistance ($R_s$) of patterned samples of ${\rm LaAlO_3}/{\rm SrTiO_3}$ with a length scale of several microns may increase significantly at low temperatures in connection with driving electrical currents and applying in-plane ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Phase-coherent lightwave communications with frequency combs [PDF]
Fiber-optical networks are a crucial telecommunication infrastructure in society. Wavelength division multiplexing allows for transmitting parallel data streams over the fiber bandwidth, and coherent detection enables the use of sophisticated modulation ...

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Transmitting a signal by amplitude modulation in a chaotic network
We discuss the ability of a network with non linear relays and chaotic dynamics to transmit signals, on the basis of a linear response theory developed by Ruelle \cite{Ruelle} for dissipative systems. We show in particular how the dynamics interfere with

Spatial dependence of gain nonlinearities in InGaAs semiconductor optical amplifier [PDF]
Counter-propagating sub-picosecond pulses are used to monitor gain saturation along the waveguide of an InGaAs superlattice semiconductor optical amplifier at 1550 nm wavelength.

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
