Type II degenerations of K3 surfaces of degree 4
Abstract We study Type II degenerations of K3 surfaces of degree 4 where the central fibre consists of two rational components glued along an elliptic curve. Such degenerations are called Tyurin degenerations. We construct explicit Tyurin degenerations corresponding to each of the 1‐dimensional boundary components of the Baily–Borel compactification of

Specialized Orthonormal Frames and Embedding
We discuss some specializations of the frames of flat orthonormal frame bundles over geometries of indefinite signature, and the resulting symmetries of families of embedded Riemannian or pseudo-Riemannian geometries.

On the tightness of left‐invariant contact structures
Abstract We prove that all left‐invariant contact structures on three‐dimensional Lie groups are tight. The argument is based on Riemannian methods and establishes a unique factorization property for any Lie group admitting a left‐invariant contact structure, other than SU(2)$\mathrm{SU}(2)$. We then make use of such factorization property to construct

In this paper, we introduce generalized Darboux frames of the first and the second kind along a null Cartan curve lying on a timelike surface in Minkowski space {E}^{3}_{1} and define null Cartan rectifying isophotic and rectifying silhouette curves in ...

An extended definition of Anosov representation for relatively hyperbolic groups
Abstract We define a new family of discrete representations of relatively hyperbolic groups which unifies many existing definitions and examples of geometrically finite behavior in higher rank. The definition includes the relative Anosov representations defined by Kapovich–Leeb and Zhu, and Zhu–Zimmer, as well as holonomy representations of various ...

We clarify the structure obtained in H\'elein and Vey's proposition for a variational principle for the Einstein-Cartan gravitation formulated on a frame bundle starting from a structure-less differentiable 10-manifold (arXiv:1508.07765v2 [math-ph]). The obtained structure is locally equivalent to a frame bundle.

Red Blood Cell Membrane Mechanics Using Discrete Exterior Calculus (DEC) and Optimization
We present a novel DEC approach for calculating RBC shapes applicable to other cell types and membrane problems. We derive an energy minimization equation that can be solved semi‐implicitly, and a Lie derivative method to control node spacing. This novel work should aid computational modeling in many biological situations.

Jets, frames, and their Cartan geometry
Jets frames, that is a generalisation of ordinary frames on a manifold, are described in a language similar to that of gauge theory. This is achieved by constructing the Cartan geometry of a manifold with respect to the diffeomorphism symmetry. This point of vue allows to give new insights and interpretations in the theory of jet frames, in particular ...

Geometry of product complex Cartan manifolds
In this paper we consider the product of two complex Cartan manifolds, the outcome being a class of product complex Cartan spaces. Then, we study the relationships between the geometric objects of a product complex Cartan space and its components, (e.g ...

In this article, light-like hypersurfaces that is derived by null Cartan curves will be examined and discussed. The singularities of lightlike hypersurfaces and light-like focal sets are investigated by using the Bishop frame on the Null Cartan curves ...
