Quantizations of $$D=3$$ D = 3 Lorentz symmetry

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
Using the isomorphism $${\mathfrak {o}}(3;{\mathbb {C}})\simeq {\mathfrak {sl}}(2;{\mathbb {C}})$$ o ( 3 ; C ) ≃ sl ( 2 ; C ) we develop a new simple algebraic technique for complete classification of quantum deformations (the classical r-matrices) for ...

Weak Hopf algebras corresponding to Cartan matrices [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2005
We replace the group of grouplike elements of the quantized enveloping algebra Uq(g) of a finite dimensional semisimple Lie algebra g by some regular monoid and get the weak Hopf algebra wqd(g). It is a subclass of weak Hopf algebras but not Hopf algebras.

Cartan matrices and integrable lattice Toda field equations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical, 2011
Differential-difference integrable exponential type systems are studied corresponding to the Cartan matrices of semi-simple or affine Lie algebras. For the systems corresponding to the algebras $A_2$, $B_2$, $C_2$, $G_2$ the complete sets of integrals in both directions are found.

Heights on ‘hybrid orbits’ in Shimura varieties

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 133, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract We prove the ‘hybrid conjecture’ which is a common generalisation of the André–Oort conjecture and the André–Pink–Zannier conjecture, in the case of Shimura varieties of abelian type.

Affine and Finite Lie Algebras and Integrable Toda Field Equations on Discrete Space-Time

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2012
Difference-difference systems are suggested corresponding to the Cartan matrices of any simple or affine Lie algebra. In the cases of the algebras $A_N$, $B_N$, $C_N$, $G_2$, $D_3$, $A_1^{(1)}$, $A_2^{(2)}$, $D^{(2)}_N$ these systems are proved to be ...

On 7‐adic Galois representations for elliptic curves over Q$\mathbb {Q}$

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 133, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract In recent years, significant progress has been made on Mazur's Program B, with many authors beginning a systematic classification of all possible images of p$p$‐adic Galois representations attached to elliptic curves over Q$\mathbb {Q}$. Currently, the classification is only complete for p∈{2,3,13,17}$p \in \lbrace 2,3,13,17\rbrace$.

Type II degenerations of K3 surfaces of degree 4

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 133, Issue 1, July 2026.
Abstract We study Type II degenerations of K3 surfaces of degree 4 where the central fibre consists of two rational components glued along an elliptic curve. Such degenerations are called Tyurin degenerations. We construct explicit Tyurin degenerations corresponding to each of the 1‐dimensional boundary components of the Baily–Borel compactification of

Counting Degrees of Freedom: A Method Applicable From Scalars to f(Q)$f(\mathbb {Q})$ Gravity and Beyond

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT We present a clear, step‐by‐step method for counting degrees of freedom and identifying constraints in general field theories. This approach, grounded in the works of Einstein, Hilbert, Cartan, Kuranishi, and, more recently, Seiler, is neither Lagrangian nor Hamiltonian in nature. Instead, it applies directly to the field equations. We offer a

Toric orbifolds associated to Cartan matrices [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Fourier, 2015
We investigate moduli stacks of pointed chains of ℙ 1 related to the Losev-Manin moduli spaces and show that these moduli stacks coincide with certain toric stacks which can be ...

On the tightness of left‐invariant contact structures

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract We prove that all left‐invariant contact structures on three‐dimensional Lie groups are tight. The argument is based on Riemannian methods and establishes a unique factorization property for any Lie group admitting a left‐invariant contact structure, other than SU(2)$\mathrm{SU}(2)$. We then make use of such factorization property to construct
