Graphical model of an elastic medium in a cartesian coordinate system

Strength of Materials, 1993
A discrete model of a deformable elastic body in the form of an oriented graph is examined. The graph can be used as a nontraditional means of deriving resolvent equations, involving the transformation of systems of generalized coordinates describing elements of the sectioned body to a coordinate system that describes the body as a whole.

An Intuitive Endoscope Operating System With an Interface Suitable for Cartesian Coordinate Input*

2023 45th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC), 2023
Endoscopes are useful tools for inspecting and observing places that are inaccessible to humans and ordinary cameras. However, it is difficult to operate an endoscope intuitively because there is an embodiment difference between the endoscope and the human body.

High-speed laser writing of arbitrary patterns in polar coordinate system.

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2016
In order to realize high-speed laser writing arbitrary patterns, we establish a set of high-speed polar coordinate laser writing system. Although the polar coordinate laser writing system is generally suitable for fabricating circular symmetric patterns,

Transformation of Coordinates between Cartesian Systems

2001
It is often necessary to convert spatial data from one reference system to another. For example, when one has determined the positions of some points in a local rectangular grid system (see Chapter 2 for definitions of the various reference systems), the positions may be converted to a national grid system, or vice versa, for various reasons.

Discretization of Macroscopic Transport Equations on Non-Cartesian Coordinate Systems

IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems, 2007
We discuss discretization schemes for the Poisson equation, the isothermal drift-diffusion equations, and higher order moment equations derived from the Boltzmann transport equation for general coordinate systems. We briefly summarize the method of dimension reduction when the problem does not depend on one coordinate.

Flexible Multibody Dynamics Based on a Fully Cartesian System of Support Coordinates [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Mechanical Design, 1993
In this paper we present an extension to flexible multibody systems of a system of fully cartesian coordinates previously used in rigid multibody dynamics. This method is fully compatible with the previous one, keeping most of its advantages in kinematics and dynamics. The deformation in each deformable body is expressed as a linear combination of Ritz

Imaginary Straight Lines in Cartesian Coordinate System

Geometry & Graphics, 2020
A geometric model of imaginary conjugate straight lines a~b, allowing symbolic representation of these lines on the real coordinate plane xy is considered. In order to connect the algebraic and geometric representations of imaginary straight lines, it is proposed to use the “mark” formed by orthogonal d1 ⊥ d2 and main g1~g2 directions of the elliptic ...

Relationship between Students’ Understanding of Functions in Cartesian and Polar Coordinate Systems

Investigations in Mathematics Learning, 2008
The present study was implemented as a prelude to a study on the generalization of the single variable function concept to multivariate calculus.
